Alternatively, you may go for nonorganic mulching. Mulching is very imperative if you want to maintain your land bare.

Proper drainage is also very important as it helps prevent sweeping away of soil by water. In case you have built a home on the land, check at the condition of the gutters and drainage pipes. Remember that when heavy rain pounds, water will drain away soil.

You should also avoid overwatering your land. This is because the water erodes the soil very fast. If possible, use little water or invest in drip irrigation. Drip system delivers little amount of water, ensuring that there is no flooding that carries the topsoil.
