There are certain basic considerations that one must put in mind when they are making a choice of equipment to buy. One of the major considerations is the size of the area that needs to be fertilized.

Another factors to keep in mind is how the area to be fertilized is shaped. The shape is brought by absence or presence of curves, corners and lines. How sharp the corners and curves are is an important factor to consider. When the spreader is mechanized, how the land is shaped is more important to consider.

The terrain of the section being fertilized is also a crucial factor to consider. Another important factor to consider is the extent of precision that one is required to attain. Various products are manufactured with different degrees of precision. It would be best if the device can give room for control of the degree of accuracy and the quantity of granules released in unit time.

Cost is another very variable factor. Cost varies depending on the manufacturer, model, size, country of origin, fuel consumption, and accuracy of the equipment among many others. If one has a large lawn, they will need a large spreader, which in turn costs more. Alternatively, one can rent the equipment from rental stores and return it when they are done with the application of fertilizer.
